KAPSA stands for Kalkan Association for the Protection of Street Animals. It is a Turkish registered, non-profit organisation run by dedicated volunteers who care about Kalkan's street animals and strive to make their lives healthier and happier.
KAPSA's core aims are:
To lessen the suffering of abandoned, injured and abused cats and dogs
To improve public understanding and treatment of animals through education and example, and to increase local awareness of, and compassion for the plight of street animals
To prevent the birth of unwanted animals by neutering/spaying (TNR - Trap, Neuter and Return)
To reduce the number of unwanted animals being brought into Kalkan from outside by extending our work to surrounding villages
To provide appropriate veterinary care for sick and injured animals
To reduce the number of sick and starving animals by continuing our winter feeding programme
To find suitable homes for animals where ever possible
To show people the importance of having owned animals neutered and to offer free sterilisation for animals in under privileged households
To raise the public's awareness of its responsibility towards all animals in our society
We depend entirely on voluntary donations, so your support is critical. With your help, we can relieve a lot of unnecessary suffering. Help us make a difference to the lives of Kalkan's street animals.
